Is LovedPDF really free?
Yes. Every browser-based tool is free with no daily cap during launch, no sign-up, and no ads. Pro and Teams plans add higher per-file size limits, AI features, and team workspaces — but the free tier covers most personal use forever.
Are my files actually safe?
Every browser tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Open DevTools → Network tab and watch — when you process a PDF, zero outgoing requests fire. We don't have a copy of your file because we never received it. For the few server-required tools (OCR, Word↔PDF) coming in Phase 3, files use TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest, EU servers only, and auto-delete within 60 minutes.
Which PDF tools does LovedPDF support?
Today: 34 fully-working browser tools across organize (merge, split, reorder, delete pages, n-up, blank page, compare, bookmarks), optimize (compress, flatten), convert (JPG↔PDF, PNG↔PDF, WebP→PDF, PDF→Text, Text→PDF, PDF→PNG), and edit (rotate, watermark, page numbers, sign, edit metadata, crop, resize, grayscale, invert, stamp, decrypt, Bates numbering, print). 12 more (PDF↔Word/Excel/PowerPoint, OCR, password protect, repair, PDF/A) ship in Phase 3.
How does LovedPDF compare to iLovePDF and SmallPDF?
Three differences. (1) We process every browser-capable tool locally — they upload everything. (2) Our UI was rebuilt from scratch in 2026 with modern design — theirs date from 2010. (3) Free is genuinely free with no ads. Read the full comparison at /vs/ilovepdf.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes — all tools are mobile-responsive and touch-optimized. The signature tool works with finger drawing, file uploads use the native camera/file picker, and complex tools like compare-PDFs gracefully reflow to single-column on narrow screens.
Do I need to install anything?
No. LovedPDF is a website. Open it in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave, Arc) on desktop, mobile, or tablet. There's no app to install, no extension to add, no account to create.
Is the source code open?
The browser code is fully visible in your DevTools — that's how the privacy guarantee is verifiable. We are working towards open-sourcing the entire repo for full transparency.
